After living in downtown Dallas and encountering so many homeless people, my wife and I decided to be light in their darkness and share the love of Christ with those who find themselves in a bad situation. It began with our homeless friend Eddie outside of our downtown apartment and spread from there! We have evolved from feeding hot meals out of our personal van, to hot meals, hygeine packs, and clothing for hundreds. The need is very real and regardless of their circumstances, they should not be forgotten or neglected. However, we can not do it alone, we need the help of those who partner financially and those who are willing and ready to go out and be "hands on" to our fellow man. If you have a passion to deliver the "Good News" and make a difference in the streets, then the door is open. Come volunteer and bring the light you carry into the darkness and watch lives change!!
Fishers Of Men has been given the awesome opportunity to host Day With Dad every (90) days at the C.T. Terrell Unit in Rosharon, Texas. The day is filled with great crafts and activities for these incarcerated parents and their children. Dads are learning how to be an intergal part of the family in the midst of their situation. For many of these men, the reality has finally hit that they do not possess the skills needed to be a good Godly parent. This realization has given these men a desire and drive to not only find change in Christ for themselves, but also a decision has been made to connect with their children and families and allow God to restore. If you would be interested in joining us for these events, we would love to have you. There are volunteer opportunities in many areas, so do not hesitate to get on board with what God is doing with these family units....you will be amazed!!!
